Deborah Thomas was born in 1966, began her early education in Lagos and moved to further her higher education in London, where she settled. She earned her BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering at the South Bank University in London.
Deborah spent majority of her summer vacations during her early teenage years with her late grandmother a renowned goldsmith and jewellery maker, where she learnt the trade naturally as a hobby. This hobby then later transformed from making jewellery for family and friends into a proper business. Demand for her pieces were so high that it led to her own extremely popular hit TV show on British Television named ‘Chic Elegance By Deborah Thomas’ from 2003 to 2006.
Deborah, an established entrepreneur advises small businesses on branding solutions and tools for their businesses.
In January 2009, she founded the Deborah Thomas Foundation, a foundation that campaigns and supports Education for all children globally with a view of assisting towards various skills and initiatives that will reduce poverty in children. Deborah believes that children are the bedrock of our society and basic education will motivate the children and consequently reduce poverty tomorrow.
Deborah Thomas is the CEO and owner of the Affordable Luxury Corporation Ltd. In 2010, Deborah founded the London lifestyle magazine called London Glossy.
Deborah is married, has two sons and lives in London. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, walking, reading and art. She collects art from various unknown artists around the world in support of their works.
